Sue Ellen Romanowski
An award winning quilter whose work has been displayed at National and International shows.
As an artist, I encourage you to decorate your home and give gifts of unique fabric works of art. I make wall hangings, table runners, picture frames and fabric vases to add warmth and color accents to the home. Other pieces of my work available in the shop include lap quilts and baby blankets. I am happy to accept commissions for your specific size and color desires.
At a young age, my Mother taught me to sew on a farm in Central Illinois. Sewing clothing, stuffed animals, and home deco items provided satisfaction for many years. The flat plains of the Illinois prairies keened my senses to pattern and texture. Later in life I became a Master Gardener with Cornell and am a National Council of Federated Garden Clubs Accredited Life Flower Show Judge and have designed many gardens and flower arrangements that have won numerous awards. In 1996, I began my journey with 'quilting' and found a true passion. I have had the pleasure of studying with many local, national & international fiber artists.
Fabric art is an extension of my love of color and pattern developed through years of gardening. In common with flower arranging, the wall hangings show my pleasure in color interactions by piecing the many fabrics that I use. I find color very exciting and with the fabric, use it to create motion and feeling. The quilting that I do is produced on a standard sized domestic sewing machine by hand guided 'free motion.' Nature, especially flowers, trees & leaves inspire many of my creations. I love nature and celebrate it with my work.
