Markie Roe

Markie Roe is a clothing designer who uses natural fiber fabrics to make jackets and accessories primarily for women. She draws her inspiration from the patterns, colors and textures of everyday life, as well as the avant garde. Hallmarks of her aesthetic include unusual combinations of pattern, color and texture, as well as bound seams and custom closures. Roe began her art as a child, outfitting her Barbie Dolls in couture creations. She continued to design and sew for herself and friends, and began her professional career in 1990, designing for a weaver in Corning, NY. Today she has loyal customers throughout the northeast, including a burgeoning young clientele – she recently began designing jackets and accessories for toddlers.
