Devon MacRae

Having been surrounded by trees and nature for all 26 years of his young life, it's not surprising that one day not too long ago, one of those trees fell into Devon's arms… and Devon fell into the art of woodworking. These days, you can find Devon in his small woodshop outside of Cincinnatus, NY, shaping maple, cherry, ash, and butternut—some of which comes directly from the woods behind his house—into one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture whose unique design combines a classical foundation with an innovative twist. (Some of his trademarks include intricate handcarvings or small plates of stained glass integrated within the work.) Devon's aim is to make sure that all of his work is visually appealing, but beyond that, he wants the form of each piece to support its function: table legs are delicate yet sturdy, drawers are fitted carefully, and he makes sure to use only the finest Brusso hardware on all of his work.
